As I have been driving around I have seen lots of raindeer and caribou. I have since learned that the raindeer are a private herd owned by a local man. when the caribou come through, the raindeer tend to run off with them.



I have seen lots of Muskox also. They are usually in small herds and apparently roam long distances.
I got quite close to one bull before his stamping and blowing made me decide I was close enough.



About 60 miles out the Kougerok road was this pile of old flat cars. In 84 miles this is the only sign of a railroad.
Those are Muskox in the background.



I ended up getting this bou to fill the freezer.
Here you can get 5 a day, and there is no close season!
