January 17, Race started at 10:30am
This year we had 10 degrees F, with winds on the summit in excess of 50kph. The snow was too dry to stick to the road so for 50 miles there was bare pavement with wind drifts to add a bit more challenge.
The snow was really comming down so speed this year was going to be slower than usual making it a technical race.
Waiting
31 sleds entered the race.
Thanks to Pete and Diana Lapham
This has been a very exciting race.
There was a bit of waiting as the plow trucks came through from plowing one lane down the middle of the road.
It was a good turn out, with 9 sleds in the "ancient of days" category, 4 in the 441-550, 5 in the 551-650, and 13 sleds in the "651cc and over" class.
As always there was carful planning and coordination to ensrure accuracy. We thank all those who put in the effort for this success.
