Died and gone to Haines!

Day 2 - The Big Salmon

April 15, 2006

Today I didn't really care where we went, I just wanted to GO!
So we headed up the Big Salmon.
Today was special because we had a new rider to break in,
Sean's brother in law, Robert clay had just moved to Haines,
He wanted to go, and found a sled to borrow.
So we headed out to sacrifice new meat!

wk_2744C_1.jpg Steve Has become a real pleasure to ride with,
It's getting to be a toss up who finds a good crossing first.
And like his dad, he finds good ones.

I never get tired of riding the water,
or watching others do it.
It adds such an extra element to the excitement.
Which is a large part of the pleasure riding the Big Salmon.
We have to cross many times as we work our way up the valley
And the banks grow taller the further we get
until they become vertical 4'edges.
The degree of difficulty keeps building!

He acted like no stranger to riding,
But hey, how much riding can you do in Pensilvania?
None the less he adopted the phrase

"Ride it like you stole it!"
