Snake River

Riding across the tundra is certainly a different kind of riding for me.
And the sudden heat wave has got us all feeling like spring is here!
but wind is always a concern and people here take getting out
in the country a very searious event.
This is not a real friendly environment.
The joke was made, that the natives didn't settle this particular section
of barron wast land, it was the crazy wite man.

05 After crossing the tundra and a few frozen slews,
we crossed the Teller road and onto the new mining road
up the snake river valley.
The creeks that run under the roads in summer,
are bright, light blue glaciers over them in the winter.

And don't expect magazine photos here,
This is some flat light which made riding over the wind blown
snow drifts like riding on a wild roler coaster in the dark!
I spent more time in the air than a jack rabbit on the run!

09 Here was our destination today, a small bowl on the west side of the valley.
there was a bit more snow here to pull a few turns.
