Almost Family
March 15, 2004
33 degrees

My Niece Lynnelle brought her retinue down from Fairbanks to introduce her intended to the Juneau family.
The party consisted of; (from left to right) Her brother Trevor, "the Him" Ryan, Lynnelle, His sister Heather, and His brother Travis.

After tanking up on a superb supper, we all doubled up on 3 sleds and headed out for a "trial" ride,
Mind you the trial was for Ryan, to see if he might "fit into the family".
They are a motorcycle family from Philly, and have no real snowmachine experience, so were very eager to try something new.
The weather was heavy overcast and snow but everyone was having a blast.

We took the lower porcupine road from the steel bridge and ended up at the gravel pit. There was just enough fresh wet snow to make the trip a challenge and fun.
We piled off the sleds and let everyone have a crack at a few proven jumps for some fun and photos.

I kinda had to talk Heather into giving it a go, and the last thing she said before zooming off was;
"arn't you afraid I will break it?"
I just grinned, I figured she couldnt be too wild....
Wrong!
This was her first jump. It was then her brother told me she is a Hellcat!
