This was actually the 10th, we went to town to pick up Chucks new girlfriend, he was so excited he reminded me of a highschool geek on a date with the prom queen. I remember being like that with my new toy. It was fun to see. The next day it poured rain like a drunk wishes the bartender would pour drinks! So Sean and I sat with him at the roadhouse and tried to cheer him. |

But today the sky was clear and had the promise of a wonderful day, boy did I need this. It has been raining for 2 weeks and I was thinking I was back in Juneau! So we drug our sleds to the Steel Bridge and headed to walker lake. On the way we ran into Stiller on his way out so we stopped to chat and soak up the sun which was already feeling like spring. I have never seen the Porcupine road groomed, but I will tell you I am very grateful! Sean figures it was done for the poker ride this weekend which will not be on the lake this year. |
| After diving off the road, the upper trail into Walker Lake is lots of fun, creek bottoms and timber makes for a great trip to the lake, and now with so many sleds going these days it is a very easy trail. If you haven't been yet, make it a point to go soon. |

And as a reward to the effort you break out onto Walker Lake! a very fun place to jump bumps on the sides, or race all out across the large expance. After all that rain I was quite surprized to find the snow deep and wonderful! |
